Frequently Asked Questions
How much notice do you require to create my wedding cake?
We require a minimum of two full weeks notice for the majority of our cakes. More intricate designs will require longer. We advise you order as soon as possible, as at peak times we may be too busy to accept your order.
Can you make any cake?
Provided it is physically possible, our highly skilled cake artists can achieve almost anything.
If I bring a photo or have my own design, can you recreate it?
Absolutely, we are happy to work with you to create your dream cake especially for you.
Can I change the colours of your existing designs?
Certainly, we are happy to advise which colours will work best for your chosen design, but ultimately it’s your cake and pretty much any colour is possible.
Can you match a colour?
Normally. Some colours simply aren’t attainable with food colouring. However, these are few and far between. If you can let us have a swatch to work from we should be able to match it. Remember, two tone fabrics look different depending on how they’re viewed, so you’ll have to decide which colour you would like.
Can I have a combination of different sponges and fruit cake?
Yes, of course. We offer Vanilla, Chocolate, Lemon and Red Velvet Sponges and a Rich fruit Cake. The rich fruit cake, due to it’s weight, needs to be beneath any sponges.
How long will my cake last?
We strongly recommend sponge wedding cakes be consumed at the reception. Rich Fruit cakes should be consumed within one week.
If I need to collect my cake the day before my reception, how should I store it?
All cakes should be kept cool and dry and at a constant temperature. Preferably below 19ºC. Do not allow them to be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. Keep them out of direct sunlight. Do not store your cake in a kitchen.
